Reporting Illness
IF YOUR CHILD IS ILL
If your child is ill and unable to attend school, please telephone the school on 01904 554535, or send an app message before 9am on the first day of absence. If it is likely to be a lengthy absence, please keep in touch by phone during the course of the illness. If notification is not received, a telephone call from school will be made to ascertain the reason for absence. If we do not receive notification, the absence may be recorded as unauthorised and the number of days will be recorded on the pupil’s annual report.
The school follows NHS guidance in relation to illness and absence.
In line with NHS guidance, children with vomiting or diarrhoea must remain off school for 48 hours from the last episode. This applies even if symptoms are mild or short-lived.
